"Ted" Kennedy (Democrat of Massachusetts) arrives to deliver the keynote speech at the 1980 Democratic National Convention in New York, New York on Tuesday, August 12, 1980. With him is his wife, Joan. Kennedy challenged incumbent President Jimmy Carter for his party's 1980 nomination.
