On Thursday morning, October 9, Hostages Square in Tel Aviv was filled with thousands of celebrating relatives and supporters after US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached a ceasefire and hostage deal. The agreement, which was due to be ratified by the Israeli government that evening, is meant to secure the release of the remaining hostages within the following 72 hours.
