EU Pact For The Mediterranean - Brussels
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, delivers a statement at the Berlaymont, the headquarters of the European Commission, on 16 October 2025 in Brussels, Belgium. Today, the European Commission and the High Representative are presenting an ambitious new strategy to strengthen the EU's relations with its partners in the Southern Mediterranean. Building on our historical and cultural ties, the Mediterranean Pact will focus on areas of common interest where we share challenges and aspirations. The Mediterranean Pact will intensify cooperation and economic ties between the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and beyond.
