Air Quality Deteriorates in Dhaka - Bangladesh

Severe dust pollution adds to commuters' woes on the road at Fatullah, on the outskirts of Dhaka, Bangladesh, November 06, 2025. Dust pollution reaches an alarming stage in Dhaka and many deaths as well as several million cases of illness occur every year due to the poor air quality. Dhaka has long been grappling with air pollution issues. Its air quality usually turns unhealthy during winter and improves during the monsoon. With the advent of winter, the city's air quality starts deteriorating sharply due to the massive discharge of pollutant particles from construction works, rundown roads, brick kilns and other sources.
