US: Blizzard Slams Northern Iowa, Travel Severely Disrupted
A powerful blizzard swept across northern Iowa on Sunday, December 28, bringing travel to a standstill as major highways were closed due to blowing snow and whiteout conditions. Blizzard warnings remain in effect until 9 a.m. Monday, December 29, with 2 to 7 inches of snow and wind gusts reaching up to 62 mph. Numerous crashes were reported statewide, and authorities warned of extremely hazardous and icy road conditions as temperatures rapidly dropped.
