US: Hail Pounds Chicago Area as Severe Storm Sweeps Through Northern Illinois
Large hail struck the Chicago area on March 10, 2026, pelting parts of the region as a severe storm system moved through northern Illinois. A supercell thunderstorm moved across the southern and western Chicago suburbs, dropping hail ranging from 2 to locally 4 inches in diameter across the area.
The storm also brought tornado warnings, damaging winds, and flash flooding threats across the region.
