Japan to release extra oil reserve from May
Cabinet ministers discuss measures to deal with the Middle East crisis in a meeting at the prime minister's office in Tokyo on April 10, 2026. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi revealed at the meeting that Japan plans to release an additional 20 days' worth of oil reserves starting in early May.
