Model of China Pavilion in 2010 Shanghai World Expo unveiled

SHANGHAI, China - A model of the China Pavilion to be built for the World Exposition in Shanghai in 2010 is unveiled on Dec. 18 as the groundbreaking ceremony to start construction of the pavilion was held in Shanghai the same day. The red national pavilion, 63 meters high and 27,000 square meters in area, is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2009.

27,000 people form human chain around U.S. Kadena Air Base

NAGO, Japan - About 27,000 people surround the U.S. Air Force Kadena Air Base (L) in Okinawa on July 20, shouting ''no'' to the U.S. military presence in Japan's southernmost prefecture before Group of Eight (G-8) leaders meet for their annual summit from July 21.
