Spain: Heavy Rain and High Winds Lash Barcelona Area as Storm Nils Arrives

Barcelona is on high alert as Storm Nils lashes the city with hurricane-force gusts. After peak winds of 105 km/h at the Port, authorities activated the maximum emergency plan for wind. The storm has forced the closure of all public parks and suspended several rail services this Thursday, February 12. Travel is severely impacted at El Prat Airport, where Aena reports at least 101 flights cancelled and ten others diverted. The video shows the Torre de Collserola swaying in the strong wind.
