Taiwan launches torch relay to promote bid for U.N. entry

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian (C) kicks off an 11-day, 1,200-kilometer torch relay near the Presidential Palace in Taipei on Oct. 24 to promote the island's bid to gain entry into the United Nations.
