"Iron Man" Kanemoto retires

NISHINOMIYA, Japan - Hanshin Tigers outfielder Tomoaki Kanemoto speaks during a ceremony marking his retirement at Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture, on Oct. 9, 2012. Kanemoto's 'iron man' streak ends at 1,492 games

Kanemoto had his Japanese baseball record streak of playing in consecutive games without missing an inning halted at 1,492 as he was left out of the starting lineup in the game.
