Tests begin at 'mega-float' facility in Tokyo Bay

YOKOSUKA, Japan - A light plane takes off from a floating airport built in Tokyo Bay in a series of takeoff and landing tests that began July 5. The 1,000-meter-long ''mega-float'' facility has been developed by a group of four Japanese steelmakers and 13 shipbuilders.
