SENDAI, Japan - A 29-year-old male nurse, Daisuke Mori, is escorted by police officers at the Izumi Police Station in Sendai on Feb. 18 as he is sent to prosecutors on suspicion of attempting to murder a 1-year-old girl by administering her with lethal amounts of muscle relaxant via an intravenous drip. Police allege that Mori administered the drug to the girl at Hokuryo Clinic on Feb. 2 last year. The girl temporarily stopped breathing but later recovered and was discharged from the hospital. Mori has been in custody since being arrested Jan. 6 and subsequently charged with attempting to kill an 11-year-old girl Oct. 31 last year using the same method. The girl is still unconscious.

Hayakawa, 50, has been indicted, along with AUM founder Chizuo Matsumoto and four others, for murdering Tsutsumi Sakamoto, his wife Satoko and their 1-year-old son Tatsuhiko at their home in Yokohama in November 1989. Sakamoto was a lawyer who was handling several legal suits against the sect.
