Students set Japan record for flight of human-powered aircraft

SHIZUOKA, Japan - A human-powered aircraft, steered by Kai Hirawata, a third-year student at Nihon University's College of Science and Technology, leaves the Fujikawa gliding ground in Shizuoka Prefecture on March 21. The aircraft flew for around 12 kilometers, beating the previous domestic record of 10.9 km.
