The windmill, which is 118 meters high with blades extending 80 meters long, has a capacity to produce 3 million kilowatts of electricity a year. At night, the windmill is illuminated in green, yellow, red and green, the color changing every 30 minutes depending on the direction of the wind.

SAPPORO, Japan - Defending World Cup champion Martin Schmitt of Germany continues his hot streak on Jan. 22 in Sapporo, northern Japan, as he wins the Sapporo ski jumping meet for his seventh victory on this season's World Cup circuit. Schmitt, second after a 125.5-meter leap on his first attempt, secured his third consecutive victory with the longest second-round jump of 118 meters in a swirling wind on the K-120 Okurayama hill, site of the 1972 Sapporo large hill competition.
