On Friday, September 12, in Franklin Park, west of Chicago, an ICE officer was severely injured and a suspect, identified as Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez — an undocumented immigrant with a prior reckless driving charge — was killed after allegedly resisting arrest and dragging the officer with his car during a vehicle stop. The officer fired shots, and Villegas-Gonzalez later died at a hospital.
