Japan: Heavy Rain Hits Northern Mie Prefecture, Dozens of Cars Damaged in Yokkaichi

On Friday night, September 12, northern Mie Prefecture was hit by an intense, short-lived downpour. The rainfall reached a record 123.5 millimeters per hour, the highest ever recorded in the area. Near Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station, which was bustling on a weekend night, streets and shopping districts were flooded, leaving many vehicles stranded and causing chaos. In the city center, the large underground parking lot Kusunoki Parking was submerged, with dozens of cars damaged by the floodwaters.

Japan: Typhoon Lingling Brings Heavy Rain, Damage to Kagoshima

Typhoon Lingling made landfall in Kagoshima Prefecture on the evening of Thursday, August 21, bringing heavy rain and widespread damage across Kyushu. China: Raging Floods Sweep Away Vehicles in Xianfeng, Hubei

On June 30, 2025, heavy rains triggered flash floods in Xianfeng, Hubei, sweeping away vehicles and submerging streets. Over 18,000 residents were evacuated as parts of the town became impassable. A red alert was issued after 353.4 mm of rain fell in 12 hours. Rescue efforts continued as floodwaters surged through the area.
