In a statement, the commission said this would allow the European defense industry to increase its ammunition production to two million shells a year by the end of 2025. Its annual production capacity for 155 mm shells reached 1 million per year in January. The market was crowded when it was targeted by a barrage of 152-mm caliber and 155-mm caliber shells from the Ukrainian side, Russia's TASS news agency reported, citing local authorities of Donetsk. Among the injured, 18 were hospitalized, most of them in critical condition, the Ministry of Health of Russia said.
