Prime Minister Abe visits Yasukuni shrine, first such homage in 7 years since his predecessor Koizumi’s visit

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited the war-linked Yasukuni shrine in Tokyo on the morning of Dec. 26, 2013. It was the first visit to the shrine in seven years by a serving prime minister since then Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi went in 2006.Prime Minister Abe visited the shrine for the war dead just one year after the start of his second stint as premier.
