Centenarians in Japan number record 25,606

TOKYO, Japan - Yone Minagawa (photo taken April 6, 2005) from Akaike, Fukuoka Prefecture, is the oldest person in Japan at 112. The government said on Sept. 13 ahead of Respect for the Aged Day on Sept. 19 that centenarians in Japan will number a record 25,606 by the end of September.
