On Sunday morning, December 21, dense fog and “very unhealthy” air pollution (AQI 215–282) blanketed Karachi, disrupting flights with six international services diverted to Muscat and Islamabad, while poor visibility and road conditions caused a fatal motorcycle accident and led to temporary highway closures in other parts of Pakistan.
