TOKYO, Japan - Morning newspapers in Tokyo on July 30 carry banner headlines on the Liberal Democratic Party's crushing defeat in the House of Councillors election the previous day. The LDP lost 19 of the 56 seats it held before the election, while the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan added 28 to the 32 seats it held before the poll.
