Germany: Clashes Break Out at Nakba Day March in Berlin

Berlin police used pepper spray and tear gas to disperse a Nakba Day march in the German capital on Saturday, May 16, as around 2,000 demonstrators gathered to mark the 78th anniversary of the 1948 Palestinian displacement. Several people were arrested. Some 700 officers were deployed to monitor the event.

France: Nantes Game Abandoned After Ultras Storm Field

A Ligue 1 game between Nantes and Toulouse was abandoned Sunday, May 17, after ultras stormed the field in the 22nd minute, throwing flares and breaching security barriers at Stade de La Beaujoire. Players fled to the locker rooms as riot police intervened. Referee Stéphanie Frappart called off the match on security grounds. The incident appeared to be a protest against the club's relegation after a dismal season in which Nantes won just five of 33 league games.

Australia: Rainbows Form Over Crashing Waves

On April 12, 2026, in Australia, a video recorded waves rolling along a rocky coastline under bright sunlight. Blue ocean water moved up and down against the rocks as sea spray filled the air. As sunlight passed through the mist above the waves, a colorful rainbow appeared over the ocean. Soon afterward, another incoming wave created a second rainbow nearby. The scene looked especially vivid because of the clear weather and high visibility along the coast. Rainbows forming directly above moving sea waves are not commonly seen.

China: Worker Quickly Tackles Burning Truck Tire at Water Station in Guizhou

On May 7, 2026, a truck tire caught fire as the vehicle approached a water filling station in Anshun, Guizhou, China. A female worker at the station quickly grabbed a hose. Her quick reaction helped prevent the fire from spreading to the rest of the vehicle and avoided a potentially more dangerous accident.
