Asashoryu completes memorable comeback to win New Year title

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso (R) hands the 40-kilogram Prime Minister's Cup to Mongolian grand champion Asashoryu with the help of an aide at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan on Jan. 25. Aso congratulated Asashoryu on his victory at the 15-day New Year Grand Sumo Tournament, saying, ''A yokozuna must be strong.'' Asashoryu missed part or all of the previous three tournaments with an injured left elbow.
