Fourth Heat Wave Of The Summer Hits Spain

A man photographs a thermometer with a temperature of 43ºC during the fourth heat wave of the summer, on August 23, 2023, in Bilbao, Biscay, Basque Country (Spain). The Basque Government has activated the red alert in Euskadi for today, by risk of very high temperatures, between three and six in the afternoon, which could reach 41-42 degrees in points west of the Cantabrian slope. As reported by the Department of Security, in addition, the maximum temperatures could be around 36 degrees in the coastal area, 40 degrees in the inner Cantabrian area and 39 degrees in the transition zone and the axis of the Ebro. The risk of forest fires is relatively high in the Basque Autonomous Community due to the low relative humidity and the wind from the south Photo by H.Bilbao/Europa Press/ABACAPRESS.COM
