Yamada wins 1st national nordic combined title

SAPPORO, Japan - Kazuyoshi Yamada (wearing No. 11) completes a come-from-behind victory by winning the cross-country leg Feb. 25 to capture his first title at the nordic combined skiing national championships in Sapporo. Yamada finished the 15-km race in 48 minutes, 41.6 seconds, with Makoto Masaki (No. 3) taking the runner-up spot a further 37.3 seconds back.
