On Tuesday, September 16, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch, which included the potential for tornadoes, for several counties on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. The watch was in effect until 9 p.m. The storms led to significant travel disruption, with 525 flights delayed and one canceled at Denver International Airport (DIA).
