Honda's FY 2008 auto sales to exceed target on brisk Insight orders

Honda is anticipating that its auto sales in Japan in fiscal 2008 ending next month will exceed an earlier-estimated 554,000 units, hitting a range of 570,000 to 580,000 units, due to the growing popularity of the hybrid, company officials said. Orders for the new Insight, launched on Feb. 6, are now projected to top 15,000 units this week, more than triple an earlier monthly sales target of 5,000 units.
