Japan to issue colored silver coins for Winter Asian Games

TOKYO, Japan - Finance Minister Masajuro Shiokawa at a news conference at the Finance Ministry in Tokyo on Oct. 4 holds up a sheet depicting a colored silver coin to be issued to mark the 5th Winter Asian Games to be held in Aomori Prefecture in February 2003. The 1,000 yen coins made of pure silver will feature a skier and a skater on the front, and apples, the games' symbol mark, in the back.
