TOKYO, Japan - Chitose Kobayashi (file photo taken in 1986), a famous actress in the early days of Japanese television broadcasting, died of heart failure Nov. 26, her family said. She was 66. Kobayashi was often featured in Japan Broadcasting Corp. (NHK) dramas and is known for playing the role of the mother of the heroine in a 1974 NHK drama series.
