Toyota launches redesigned Crown Majesta luxury sedan

TOKYO, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. on March 26 launched its redesigned Crown Majesta luxury sedan, which boasts enhanced comfort and new safety technologies. The fifth-generation Crown Majesta, the Toyota brand's top sedan, is equipped with a 4.6-liter V8 gasoline engine and has a wheelbase 7.5 centimeters longer than the previous model, providing increased legroom for rear-seat passengers. It comes with a premium sound system that includes 20 speakers, Toyota said. The new Crown Majesta's suggested retail price starts at 6.1 million yen, up from 5.67 million yen for the previous model.

TOKYO, Japan - A robot developed by a group led by Kazuo Yoshida, a professor in the science and engineering department at Tokyo's Keio University, performs a midair somersault in a demonstration to the media at the university Aug. 23. The robot stands 50 centimeters tall and weighs 4.3 kilograms. It can travel at a speed of about 7.5 meters per second. Yoshida said the robot that moves according to a recorded program of instructions via radio transmission may be used in space.
