STORY: U.S. beats Poland to lead Women's Volleyball Nations League DATELINE: June 29, 2023 LENGTH: 0:00:47 LOCATION: SUWON, South Korea CATEGORY: SPORTS SHOTLIST: 1. various of the match between the United States and Poland STORYLINE: The United States defeated Poland 3-2 (17-25, 25-15, 27-25, 28-30, 16-14) in Suwon, South Korea on Wednesday, climbing to the top of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League with an 8-1 win-loss record. Poland slipped to the second with seven wins and one defeat. The top two in the 16-team table went neck and neck from the beginning, but Poland led the first set in the middle of the game on superior attacking and blocking. The United States took control of the second set and fought off a hard challenge from Poland in the third set with successful spikes from outside hitters Alexandra Frantti and Kelsey Robinson.
