Popular Dog "Maru" To Promote Tourism

MIE, JAPAN - NOV. 17: The central Japan prefecture of Mie has assigned a dog called Maru as "ambassador" to promote regional tourism ahead of the Group of Seven summit the prefecture is hosting in May 2016. With the help of the 8-year-old male Shiba Inu, whose images posted on photo-sharing site Instagram are followed by 2.1 million people in around 100 countries, the prefectural government aims to draw more tourists from overseas.
