YOKOSUKA, Japan - The U.S. aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk leaves its home port at the U.S. Navy base in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo, on Jan. 23 to monitor the Korean Peninsula, Navy officials said.They said the 83,960-ton Kitty Hawk is expected to stand by in waters near Japan, given increasing tensions in North and South Korea following Pyongyang's announcement of its withdrawal from an international nuclear accord, and will not head for Iraq.
