The report said there were 624 road accidents recorded across the Southeast Asian country in February, with 85 people killed and 997 others injured. The main causes of the road accidents were drunk driving and speeding. The majority of the accidents involved drivers are aged 16 to 30. Meanwhile, the report said a rising number of foreign visitors were involved in road accidents, mostly Vietnamese tourists. In January, 770 road accidents were reported in Laos, it said. Sharp to launch world's largest LCD TV

OSAKA, Japan - Sharp Corp. said June 14 it will begin sales of what it says is the world's largest liquid crystal display television set capable of receiving digital TV broadcasts in Japan. The new 45-inch Aquos TV model will carry a suggested retail price of 997,500 yen, Sharp said, adding it plans to introduce the model in the U.S. market later in August and the European market in the fall.
