Heavy rain triggered severe flooding in Mersin, southern Turkey on Friday, January 30, after overflowing streams inundated neighborhoods, damaging 51 homes and businesses and 8 vehicles, while 12 people were rescued. Floodwaters submerged agricultural land, damaged bridges and schools, and swept away vehicles.
