China: Black Rain Falls in Huizhou, Guangdong Following Local Warehouse Fire

This is the startling moment that residents experienced black rain, an unusual occurrence that dirtied vehicles and streets. On March 31, 2025, in Huizhou, Guangdong, the black rain could be seen staining everything it touched in the video. The phenomenon occurred shortly after a fire at the nearby Ande Logistics Warehouse, located next to the Huizhou West Station. The fire's intensity and proximity to weather systems resulted in the absorption of smoke and ash by rainclouds, leading to the precipitation of black rain over the city. Fortunately, the incident resulted in no casualties.

NASA’s Webb Finds Signs of Possible Aurorae on Isolated Brown Dwarf

NASA’s Webb Finds Signs of Possible Aurorae on Isolated Brown Dwarf

Handout photo - Astronomers used NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope to study 12 cold brown dwarfs. Two of them – W1935 and W2220 – appeared to be near twins of each other in composition, brightness, and temperature. However, W1935 showed emission from methane, as opposed to the anticipated absorption feature that was observed toward W2220. The team speculates that the methane emission may be due to processes generating aurorae. Astronomers using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope found infrared emission from methane coming from W1935. This is an unexpected discovery because the brown dwarf is cold and lacks a host star; therefore, there is no obvious source of energy to heat its upper atmosphere and make the methane glow. The team speculates that the methane emission may be due to processes generating aurorae, shown here in red. Infrared emission from methane suggests atmospheric heating by auroral processes. These findings are being presented at the 243rd meeting of the American Astronomical Society in New Orl

Nearly 1 tonne lighter than a similar trailer using mainly steel, it can significantly improve the economic efficiency of highway freight transport. The trailer was jointly developed by Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Automobile Group, and many other partners. China is a major producer and exporter of raw magnesium. With advantages such as low specific gravity, high strength, good shock absorption, and anti-electromagnetic radiation, magnesium and its alloys can be widely used in aerospace, automobile, rail transit, and m

In its ranking report published on Tuesday, Moody's also changed outlook to "stable from negative." The report cited that the downgrade to B3 reflects Egypt's reduced external buffers and shock absorption capacity while the economy undergoes a structural change toward a more export- and private sector-led growth model under a flexible exchange rate regime. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a three-billion U.S. dollar financial support package to Egypt in December 2023 amid a commitment to flexible currency and monetary reforms.
