In Fuzhou, Fujian, a video captured a man fishing when he unexpectedly caught an octopus with a phone stuck to one of its tentacles on September 28. The octopus refused to let go, wrapping its arms tightly around the device as if claiming it as its own.

The section, a part of the E-763 highway, is around 8 kilometers long. It has three lanes in each direction, a five-meter dividing strip, two-meter-wide pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes. Construction of the section began in March 2021 and was conducted by the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). The project, worth about 70.5 million U.S. dollars, is of high priority for Serbia as it will enable a fast connection between Belgrade and the E-763 highway and create a short link between Belgrade and the Adriatic Sea. The Peljesac Bridge, 2.4-km long and 55-meter high, is designed to link the mainland of Croatia with its southernmost Dubrovnik-Neretva County, crossing the Mali Ston Bay over the Adriatic Sea and bypassing foreign territory. In January 2018, a Chinese consortium led by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) won the bid for the first phase of the Peljesac Bridge and its access roads. It is the biggest transportation infrastructural project between the two countries since they forged diplomatic ties 30 years ago.
