25,000 compete in annual int'l Jerusalem marathon

STORY: 25,000 compete in annual int'l Jerusalem marathon DATELINE: March 25, 2022 LENGTH: 00:01:51 LOCATION: Jerusalem CATEGORY: SPORTS SHOTLIST: 1. various of the marathon 2. various of winners crossing finish line STORYLINE: Around 25,000 runners on Friday participated in the 11th annual International Jerusalem Marathon in cold, rainy weather. Israel's Ageze Guadie won the men's race by 2:37:17, while Ukraine's Valentyna Kiliarska triumphed in the women's category in 2:45:54. The two winners received a prize of 3,750 U.S. dollars each. The first to finish in the men's half marathon race was Gelashe Abera Gadisa from Ethiopia, with a result of 1:08:35, while Israel's Selamawit Teferi won the women's half marathon with a result of 1:19:29. The event also included 10km and 5km runs, as well as 1.7km families run and 800-meter communities run. Xinhua News Agency correspondents reporting from Jerusalem. (XHTV)
