Olympic silver medalist Lee Bong Ju of South Korea pulls away from Japanese challenger Akira Manai over the final 5 kilometers on Dec. 20 to win the men's marathon, the final event of the 13th Asian Games. Lee, running a steady race in the early morning heat of Bangkok, completed the 42.195-kilometer course from Ayutthaya to the Thammasat University Stadium on the outskirts of Bangkok in an unspectacular 2 hours, 12 minutes, 32 seconds.
