A thunderstorm with heavy rain battered Mexico City on Monday, September 16 causing flooding in several areas. The red alert was issued by authorities in Coyoacán, Iztacalco, Iztapalapa, and Tlalpan. Fallen trees were also reported.

TOKYO, Japan - Andre Lecomte, a French chef in Tokyo who counted visiting world leaders among his customers, died of a heart attack in Tokyo on Aug. 6, his family says on Aug. 8. He was 68. A native of the Loire Department in central France, Lecomte comes to Japan in 1963 to work as a chef at the Hotel Okura in Tokyo.
