A wildfire broke out in the forested area of Cankurtaran neighborhood in Pamukkale, Denizli on August 23, along the Denizli–Antalya highway. The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Firefighting efforts include 3 planes, 11 helicopters, 50 fire trucks, 2 construction vehicles, and 307 personnel working on the ground and from the air. The flames spread quickly due to hot weather and wind, reaching forested areas, but no residential areas were immediately threatened.

A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck near Marmaris in Muğla Province, southwestern Turkey, at 2:17 a.m. local time on Tuesday, June 3.
