US: M7.3 Earthquake Hits Alaska, Residents Rush to High Ground After Tsunami Warning

A magnitude 7.3 earthquake struck south of Sand Point, Alaska, on Wednesday, July 16, at 12:37 p.m. Communities along 700 miles of Alaska's southern coast ordered residents to higher ground due to a tsunami warning. The Alaska Earthquake Center reported 40 aftershocks within the first three hours.

Via the municipal government office, the Guinness Book of Records notified Chuganji in late January that he has been recognized as the oldest man alive, said his oldest daughter, Kyoko, 72, who lives with him.
