GREECE-ATHENS-RED PANDA-NAMING

(230927) -- ATHENS, Sept. 27, 2023 (Xinhua) -- This photo taken on Sept. 25, 2023 shows a three-month-old red panda in the Attica Zoological Park in Athens, Greece. A red panda born three months ago in Greece is waiting to be named. The Attica Zoological Park, in a suburb of Greece's capital, launched a poll on social media on Tuesday, asking the public to pick a name for her, Antonis Balas, head keeper of mammals, told Xinhua on Wednesday. Animal lovers have until Sept. 29 to vote for one of the suggested names: Mai, Aiko Nami or Ban. The red panda, native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China, is listed as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List. Fewer than 10,000 red pandas are estimated to remain in the wild. This is why the Greek zoo was very happy with the success of the breeding attempt. (Xinhua/Marios Lolos)

Yellow Vests Trial - Paris

Yellow Vests Trial - Paris

Lawyer of Yellow Vests, Antonis Varoudakis at the courthouse in Paris, France, on March 22, 2021, for their trial on charge of destruction and theft around the Arc de Triomphe monument in Paris during the third Saturday of the "yellow vest" mass demonstrations against French President's policy in 2018. Lawyers for the accused say they are unfairly taking the blame because the main offenders managed to escape before police were able to clear the monument. Prosecutors admit that the suspects are neither the instigators nor the main culprits of the vandalism and looting around the monument, when scenes of destruction and fierce clashes with police made global headlines. Seven other people, including a minor, will be tried later on charges of unlawfully entering a historic monument. Photo by Renaud Khanh/ABACAPRESS.COM (Credit:Renaud Khanh/ABACA/Kyodo News Images)
