Strong Geomagnetic Storm Hits Earth, Bringing Spectacular Northern Lights

The U.S. Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) issued a strong geomagnetic storm alert on Thursday, September 12, as a powerful solar storm hit Earth. It brought a display of the northern lights, or aurora borealis, over a wide area around the world.

US: Multiple Tornadoes Hit Chicago Area As Cold Front Rolls Through Illinois 2

A powerful mix of rain, hail, and tornadoes hit the Chicago area as severe storms due to a cold front pummeled Illinois on Tuesday, February 27. Multiple tornadoes were reported amid tornado warnings with severe thunderstorm watches popping up one after the other as the weather system moved eastward.
