China: Students Use Bamboo Pole and Mats to Rescue Stranded Kitten

On December 26, 2025, in Henan Province, located in central China, students rescued a kitten stranded on a platform between the second and third floors of a dormitory building. Several on the third floor used a long bamboo pole to gently nudge the kitten downward. Below, other students held several thick sports mats to catch the falling cat.

China: Mother Cat Rescues Kitten From High Stone Wall

On May 17, 2025, in Zhejiang Province in eastern China, a video captured a tense rescue as a frightened kitten clung to vines on a high stone wall. Struggling to hold on, the kitten dangled precariously while its mother paced anxiously along the edge above. After searching in vain for a safe way down, the mother cat finally summoned her courage and jumped to the ground below. Moments later, the kitten lost its grip and slipped from the vines, landing safely beside her. Relieved, the mother gently picked up the kitten in her mouth and, using footholds and vines, carefully climbed back up the stone wall. The dramatic moment ended on a reassuring note as the pair reached safety together.

Aerospace Themed Tourism - China

An aerial drone photo taken on Dec. 27, 2025 shows the construction site of the second phase of the Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site (below), with its first phase and the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the background (above), in Wenchang, south China's Hainan Province. The Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site located in Wenchang in the northeastern part of Hainan Island is China's first independently designed and constructed green, eco-friendly and modern spaceport. It currently operates two all-weather, multi-directional launch pads, capable of handling heavy payloads. Wenchang is also home to China's first commercial aerospace launch site, which has sent more than 90 satellites into their planned orbits since its maiden launch in November 2024. Highly frequent rocket launches have driven the aerospace-themed tourist services in the city. The rocket-viewing platform there attracts lots of spectators for each launch.
