Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Berlin on Saturday, Mya 16 to mark the 78th anniversary of the Nakba.

Germany: Clashes Break Out at Nakba Day March in Berlin

Berlin police used pepper spray and tear gas to disperse a Nakba Day march in the German capital on Saturday, May 16, as around 2,000 demonstrators gathered to mark the 78th anniversary of the 1948 Palestinian displacement. Several people were arrested. Some 700 officers were deployed to monitor the event.

Germany: Massive Fireworks Display Lights Up Berlin Sky for New Year

Berlin celebrated the arrival of 2026 with a massive display of fireworks, even as opposition to the annual tradition grows. Police reported 400 arrests in the capital and at least 24 officers injured, as emergency responders were targeted with firecrackers and rockets in several German cities.

Germany: Pro-Israel Community Gathers at Brandenburg Gate on Hanukkah Following Sydney Attack 2

Following a reported terror attack on Sunday, December 14, at a Hanukkah celebration at Sydney's Bondi Beach, security has been heightened for upcoming Hanukkah events in Germany. Despite the heightened alert, a public candle lighting for the first night of Hanukkah was held today at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, an event that was attended by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
