The Expo's main site, Kaisho no Mori, a wooded region in the southern part of Seto, Aichi Prefecture, was drastically reduced in size due to strong opposition from environmentalists. The secretary general of the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition, Harumi Sakamoto (R), said the association answered all questions posed by the BIE officials and that the visiting officials understood the situation. The executive committee will make a report to a BIE general meeting in December.
