Pakistan: 12 Dead in Suicide Blast Outside Islamabad Court

A suicide attack outside a district court in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Tuesday, November 11 killed 12 people and injured 27 others. The bomber attempted to enter the courthouse but, failing to do so, detonated near a police vehicle. Authorities are investigating the attack, and no group has claimed responsibility. Pakistani officials, including President Asif Ali Zardari, strongly condemned the blast. Eyewitnesses described chaos, with lawyers and visitors fleeing the scene.

Second Burn Victim Dies from Leon Fires - Spain

Today a second volunteer, Jaime Aparicio, one of the seven injured who remained hospitalized with 85% of his body burned and in critical condition at the Río Hortega University Hospital in Valladolid, died today. He is a 37 year old young man who accompanied the first deceased, Abel Ramos, last Tuesday when they were trying to help in the south of Leon to extinguish the fire that came to the area from the Zamorano municipality of Molezuelas. Spain: Water Bomber Scoops Water From Plasencia Reservoir

Storms with over 700 lightning strikes sparked a wildfire in Jarilla in the province of Cáceres, Extremadura on Tuesday, August 12. The fire burned out of control spreading toward the nearby municipalities of Villar de Plasencia and Cabezabellosa, due to difficult terrain and strong winds. Aerial firefighting has continued. Two water bombers have been sent by France to battle wildfires.

One Dead and More than 5,000 People Evacuated as Fires Ravage Leon - Spain
