The protest is part of the mobilizations that are being repeated in other European countries to demand a review of the policies and regulations surrounding the sector. In Brussels, almost 1,500 tractors, bonfires and barricades take place in the center of the city, while the 27 are meeting for an Extraordinary European Council. The Civil Farmers' Movement has been the convener of the protest. In addition, blockades have also been promoted in other areas of Portugal, a day after the Portuguese government announced a 500 million euro aid package.
